It seems that the Foley fiasco cannot be shaken off the news. Are the Dems trying milk it for all it's worth? And is that good or bad? Are news stations holding onto the lurid details for "exciting coverage?" It certainly makes for one hell of a reality show. It could be called "Another Page in the Life and Times of a Congressperson." (No pun intended)
For me, it's just another example of the complete meltdown of our government. I actually find it humorous how the Republicans are scrambling to do damage control. It actually sickens me to listen to Fox News or MSNBC News and hear the "analysts" or the republican leadership referring it to a gay issue.
Wake up you idiots! It's about a Congressman having an inappropriate relationship with a minor. Plan and simple.
What also alarms me is the new breed of "gay" congressional staffer working with the Republicans. Talk about hypocritical! My favorite line in the past week has been the "gay anti-gay vote." As a gay Democrat, I can almost tolerate a gay Republican - but a closeted gay Republican? Please.......
In the end, there are two good things to come out of it: first, hopefully, with everything else, it will result in a change in who control's Congress; and, second, people will realize that Republicans are NOT the moral upstanding party they promote themselves to be.
They are just a sinful as us Democrats!

The Foley thing offends me because he's using several things as shields that are serious. He says he's been molested. Well then advocate for true healing for those children in the world that have been sexually abused. Make policy changes. Make it so that kids feel comfortable telling. Don’t then say I'm gay like that's what happens when you're gay. That's not what happens. Don’t make the association, because that's all it takes for weak-minded Americans to grasp on to hate. And lets not forget that there is inappropriate sexual behavior happening with interns and congressional staff and presidents etc. under aged, married, threesomes and we can keep going. It’s inappropriate because it's harassment, it abuse of power, its a work place. These interns are trying to put something amazing on their resumes; they are trying to understand the making of laws. So any higher up hitting on them is abusive.

Sadly, this only further gives cause for everyone outside the Beltway to give up on politics. And while the national political scene is enough to make me hurl, the local political divisiness also contributes to my current disdain for politics and politicians.

Sadly, this is just another clod of dirt on an already filthy heaping pile of crap we have to put up with because of politicians. Dem or Rep or Ind, there are very few left that aren't in the game to truly help and make life better for all Americans. Instead because of their self-serving attitudes, they are only concerned about constantly being re-elected.
